Breakfast with MLK

In a sermon nearly a half century ago, Dr. King noted the origins of the food he ate that morning—English toast, South American coffee—and observed: “Before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half of the world.” He was not preaching free trade per se, but Dr. King did offer an important lens through which to view the role of trade in our lives.
